Videosignal Transmission

Max. Distances for Transmitting Video Signals via Coax Cable

Max. transmission distances without equalising amplifier and accepted attenuation value of 3 dB at 5 MHz (corresponding to a fine structure of approx. 400 vertical lines), details easily recognisible:

  • 46 m with cable type RG-179 (similar to 0.3/1.5)
  • 115 m with cable type RG-59 (similar to 0,6/3,7)
  • 200 m with cable type RG-11 (similar to 1,2/7,3)
  • 300 m with cable type RG-34 (similar to 1,9/11,7)

Max. transmission distances without equalising amplifier and accepted attenuation value of alue of 6 dB at 5 MHz (corresponding to a fine structure of approx. 400 vertical lines), details still recognisible:

  • 92 m with cable type RG-179 (similar to 0,3/1,5)
  • 230 m with cable type RG-59 (similar to 0,6/3,7)
  • 400 m with cable type RG-11 (similar to 1,2/7,3)
  • 600 mwith cable type RG-34 (similar to 1,9/11,7)

Max. Distances for Transmitting Video Signals via Twisted Pair

  • 1000 m with cable type A-2Y(ST)2Y 2 x 0,4 mm
  • 1250 m with cable type A-2Y(ST)2Y 2 x 0,5 mm
  • 1500 m with cable type A-2Y(ST)2Y 2 x 0,6 mm
  • 2000 m with cable type A-2Y(ST)2Y 2 x 0,8 mm
  • 2300 m with cable type A-2Y(ST)2Y 2 x 1,2 mm
  • 2600 m with cable type A-2Y(ST)2Y 2 x 1,4 mm
